Lake Christian Ministries (LCM) is a regional non-profit that provides food, clothing, household items, crisis financial aid, job assistance, and community referrals and connections to our neighbors in need in Bedford, Franklin and Pittsylvania counties.


Lake Christian Ministries services are provided from 9 AM until noon on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and the last Tuesday of each month from 5 until 6:30 PM. Those seeking financial aid need to arrive at LCM within the first hour of operation.

LCM Scope of Operations:
LCM serves families in the Smith Mountain Lake areas of Bedford, Franklin and Pittsylvania counties.

We are supported by 14 local churches, civic organizations, businesses and individual contributors. LCM’s two major annual fundraising events are Roanoke Valley Gives in the spring and the SML Walk to End Poverty in the fall.

LCM programs and services are provided by more than 230 dedicated volunteers willing to help others in need.
Volunteers are the hands, heart, and soul of LCM.  We have an URGENT need for volunteers.
