Lake Christian Ministries (LCM) is pleased to announce a new program for its clients who are seeking to move out of poverty toward lives of self-sufficiency and stability.
The program will address specific financial issues, job search needs, and family concerns.
New Tomorrows focuses on helping clients:
· Identify career interests and job search preparation;
· Become financially stable;
· Sharing situations and solutions in the Parents’ Café;
· Identify and resolve problem areas;
· Achieve goals most important to clients.
Client Selection
Clients are selected based on their willingness to:
· Move towards greater stability and self-sufficiency;
· Take personal responsibility for their growth and problem resolution;
· Devote additional time to work on their goals;
· Work with a coach/mentor to help achieve their goals.
The Process
· The client fills out a one-page application form
(NOTE: Participation in the New Tomorrows program does not affect LCM’s other forms of help i.e. food, clothing, financial aid).
· The client is introduced to a coach/mentor who will describe the program, answer any questions, and determine if the program is suitable for the client.
· The coach/mentor and client develop an action plan with steps to help client progress toward goal.
· The coach/mentor and client develop means and plan for communicating.
· If a coach/mentor is temporarily unavailable, the client will be called within the next few days to talk about the above steps. Client’s information will be safely secured.
· The coach/mentor will also assess if other New Tomorrows programs would be useful for the client, i.e. career coaching or Parents Café.
The program will address specific financial issues, job search needs, and family concerns.
